The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

I turned and turned every page of this book, unable to get enough. This fast paced, darkly romantic, and ravishing thriller pulled me in immediately. I heard so many great things about this book and I was not disappointed. Michelle Hodkin has a way of writing that is intriguing and has you hanging on the edge of your seat! I was caught up in the story, pulled into another world, just like a reader should.

What better way to start off a book than with a mystery? Michelle Hodkin does just that. Readers are immediately pulled into Mara’s life, where her thoughts and past haunt her. The story had me asking questions from page one. Hodkin captured the essence of Mara’s confusion and her mind set in such a relatable way, I felt as if these problems were occurring to me. Her fears and thoughts were coursing throughout the story. The story along with the mystery was thrilling.

Umm, let’s talk about Noah Shaw. I can’t even put him to words. He’s too perfect, and I’m a sucker for British Boys! I can picture him so perfectly in my head. The combination of his lose tie, button down pinstriped shirt, and graphic tee; made up Noah and it suited his personality. I loved his sense of humor. Noah’s character kept Mara grounded and from losing herself which added a light element to the dark story. His character was great and I absolutely feel in love.

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer left me in absolute shock and grasping for the next book. I have fallen in love with this book and cannot wait to read the next book in this series. All in all this entire book was great and I highly recommend it to those who love ‘supernatural’, romantic thrillers.
