The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin Review

I was super excited to pick up this book since I adored The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Michelle Hodkin did an even better job in this book. Just like book one, TUOMD was action packed, thrilling, romantic, and gave me chills. I laughed reading this book, I almost ripped my hair out, and I clapped all at the same time. Hodkin combined all my favorite elements of a story and of her writing into this book. I highly recommend this series and fans will not be disappointed in book two!
The book picks off where book one ended. Mara is in a psychiatric ward, enlisted by her mother. Everyone believes Mara is crazy. All accept one. The stunningly handsome and loyal British companion we know and love; Noah Shaw is the one person who understands Mara.
As Mara and Noah journey further into the mystery of their abilities they uncover new secrets and new leads that might help them. Their clues lead them into dangerous mysterious they’ve never encountered before. I loved the twist and turns Hodkin created without being repetitive or blunt. Each clue had you hanging on the edge of you seat.
Sadly though, these discoveries have Mara questioning herself even more. Mara and Noah seem to meet some of their most fine points and relationship challenges in this book. Because nothing is ever perfect, right?
Mara is even more scared now because she knows Jude isn’t dead. He isn’t gone. On their journey to uncovering the truth they stumble upon ties and connections to Jude, putting Mara and Noah both on edge.
All in all, I absolutely loved this book. It was a fantastic read and a great second book! Michelle Hodkin did an excellent job and I’m very excited to read her 3rd book, coming out in June. A great book, a great read, and I highly recommend this series.
